Island Roots Helping Thriving Pursuits
For the past 18 years, I’ve intermittently been helping local businesses here in Hawaiʻi keep their books in order — sometimes as an in-house staff member and other times with clients of my own.
Along the way, I became QuickBooks Pro certified and dove deep into accounting courses, from the basics all the way up to advanced.
But numbers aren’t my only love — I’ve always bounced between my two strengths: academic and creative.
On the creative side, I’ve worked as a certified graphic and website designer. I’ve helped numerous local businesses with their print & digital marketing media. Currently, I’m wrapping up my business degree in Marketing.
At age 26, I took the leap into entrepreneurship — and I’ve been on that journey ever since. Over the years, it has taught me valuable truths about the hustle, heart, and balance it takes to be a solopreneur.
Through it all, I’ve learned that there are mainly two pillars that every business needs to succeed: strong finances and strategic marketing.
From that simple truth, the foundation and passion for Mealoha Books was founded. A bookkeeping business (with a little marketing boost) rooted in local values and a love for helping Hawaiʻi small businesses thrive.

Lay of the Land
If everything seems promising and you are comfortable moving forward to the next step, we’ll send over a quick intake form along with a list of documents to upload. This will help to us get the full picture of your finances.

Seal the Deal
Once we receive all of your documents, we’ll send you a tailored proposal with pricing details and services outlined. If everything looks good, just sign—and consider us officially your new bookkeeper.

After sealing the deal, this is where we roll up our sleeves and get everything in order. We’ll set up your bookkeeping system, tidy up past records, and smooth out any financial wrinkles. Think of it as giving your books a fresh start—organized, accurate, and ready to flow.

Phase 2: Ongoing Support (Maintenance + Growth)
Once everything’s shipshape, we’ll keep your books running smoothly with accurate tracking, reconciling, and reporting each month. But we don’t stop there—my marketing background helps me spot trends, highlight opportunities, and share insights that guide smarter business decisions. You’ll not only stay on top of your numbers but also learn how to use them to fuel your growth.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much is the onboarding fee?
The onboarding fee varies depending on the complexity of your books and the setup required. The exact cost will be communicated in your Proposal and outlined in your Service Agreement.
I'm not in Hawaii, will you work with me?
Yes—all of our bookkeeping services are done virtually, so no matter where you are in Hawaiʻi (or beyond), we can support your business.
What types of businesses do you work with?
Our preferences include small service businesses like housekeeping, landscaping, janitorial, handyman services, yoga instructors, and other similar solopreneurs. If you are comprised of a small team with no retail inventory, we’d love to work with you.
Do you do payroll?
While we don’t process payroll ourselves, we partner with a reliable third-party service that takes care of all the payroll details for you, so it’s accurate, timely, and stress-free.
What software do you use?
We work with Quickbooks Online. If you currently use another software, we will transfer your data to Quickbooks Online during the onboarding process.
How are services billed?
Payment for our services is easy! Our bookkeeping service is billed on the 25th of the month prior and automatically processed on the 1st of the month using the card or bank information you provide in the Service Agreement.
What if I have more than 6 bank accounts?
If your needs are beyond the features of any of the packages listed above, we will create a custom-fit pricing based on those needs.
